Party on the Hill Mission Weekend.
|
Well did we have a party on the hill or what? Emmanuel was the place to be for sure. The whole weekend of mission was a great success. We started with a quiz night Friday, Tony Carr was our Quiz master for the evening he entertained us the whole evening and we had a good laugh even if we couldn't answer the questions. During the evening Leigh encouraged us with a talk on prayer which was very much appreciated. As always we enjoyed a fantastic buffet. Thank you to everyone who supported and helped out.
Saturday morning here we go again I couldn't stop smiling as loads of children turned up with their parents to our own version of Story keepers.
We all had toast for breakfast and after we were all kept enthralled by magician Mark Harrington he even escaped out of his magic coat in keeping with our theme of Joseph.
Next still full of energy we all processed down the steps to take our worship outside the shops with our very own Joseph, Matthew Dawson, in his amazing coat made by Betty Blackmore. Keyboard played by Richard Dawson.
Loads of balloons, streamers and shakers we were ready to blast the shops with worship and praise! and we did. It was lovely to have Bishop Jonathon worshipping with us. Even the weather was on our side thank you Lord!
Saturday night we were still on the go with another fun night of entertainment playing skittles I managed to be on the winning team and won a bottle of wine which was gratefully received, and of course we had another fabulous buffet. A good time was had by all.
Sunday morning worship was attended by Bishop Jonathon who really encouraged us. We carried on with the theme of Joseph and the young people took a major part in the worship, Richard narrated the story and the rest acted it out.
After the worship we were ready for a banquet. What a marvellous spread we enjoyed hard work but such an amazing weekend of mission and outreach blessed by God. A million thanks to everyone involved God Bless you.
