Concert by Mike & Elspeth Sullivan
On Monday 22nd October, Mike and Elspeth Sullivan held their first ever concert at Bentley, and what a night we had!

After everyone had been seated in the church, the concert began with Mike playing on his custom built keyboards. He played many well known pieces, including a medley of Classical pieces selcetions from Oklahoma! This got the night off to a flying start. After Mike's 20 minute solo spot, he accompanied his wife, Elspeth, who sang such showstoppers as 'Somewhere over the Rainbow'.

It is at this point that I must mention that Elspeth is a proffessional singer, and has performed on Breakfast televison and in such venues as Birmingham Cathedral! She left us awestruck with her wonderful vocal abilities!

During the interval we feasted on the delicious food that had been made by our dedicated catering team!

After the break, everyone returned to their seats, and waited eagerly for the second half to begin. Mike started the second half, and gave us such treats as Coates' Dambusters March and The Liberty Bell by Sousa. Everyone joined in by clapping along to the music (or pretending to fly!) with such enthusiasm!

After Mike had finished his second solo spot, he welcomed back Elspeth. She gave a wide range of music for our listening pleasure, including Ave Maria by Bach/Gounod, O Danny Boy and a medley from the Sound of Music!

Everyone thouroughly enjoyed the evening, and Mike and Elspeth said they would come and perform again in the future! We also raised £150, which will help boost the coffers for the Organ Restoration Fund!
